Erm, anyone with enough curiosity (or who sets shell scripts to open with a text editor rather than a shell) would have founf that out, I'm not sure why they are crediting a news site...

Alas, I feel that last point is somewhat true, though the majority of Linux home users (I'd like to think) don't care they are using a FOSS OS and would rather run applications that nothing at all...
