I Slovakia all policemen carry a gun on them so it only took 2 minutes for a patrol to get there and they've been able to intervene too. This probably saved many lives.

Makes me wonder how many lives could have been saved if all the cops in the uk had a gun on them in that shooting in Walles, few months ago...

Well considering that we have the toughest gun laws in the world it really is irrelevant. What might be better is psychiatric assessments every year. Then those with guns can lose them if they are going crackers.
