The former prime minister added it would have been "well nigh impossible" to stop Mr Brown taking over when he resigned in 2007. Mr Blair also said he was "sorry for the lives cut short" by the Iraq War, but did not regret the 2003 invasion. The book, entitled A Journey, has taken three years to write.
