I don’t think Rory is convinced about 3D TV either.

I love the way the guy justifies 3dTV by saying 'look how many 3D TVs are being shown' rather than 'look how many 3D TVs are being bought'. That kind of sums the situation up to me in a nutshell.

Yeah I saw that also.

Now I have to wear glasses so do they expect me to wear these shutter-glasses somehow on top of my ordinary ones?

When 3D TV's come out that you don't need glasses for AND don't cost me a kidney then I might consider getting one - even then there is nothing/virtually nothing to watch in 3D on it.

Sounds like a bandwagon to me. I can definitely see the advantages of TV over the internet and OLED but not much else. What was the price on that 31" OLED screen anyway?

He didn't say and, given their 15" OLED TV sells at a tad short of 1500 quid, I suspect it's in the region of 'if you have to ask you can't afford it'.

I found details on Engadget and it is a prototype. So I guess the price will be silly for a while. Though that will be my next screen, once it is a sensible price. Other than that all the internet apps and widgets look like gimmicks though watching TV shows streamed off the internet does look like a good use. I have still working TVs from ages ago and no need to replace them. I did get a HD TV recently but only because I had no HD TV and was planning on getting a console. Other than that TV's are something that most people only change once a decade or less and only once the TV has given up the ghost.
