Quote:
Lincolnshire County Council has decided to take no further action over a father allowing his seven-year-old daughter to walk alone to a bus stop.

Mark McCullough, from Glentham, said his daughter Isabelle was capable of walking 20 metres (65 ft) to the stop.

The county council told Mr McCullough and his partner Natasha Fegan the matter could be reported as a "child protection issue".

A council spokesperson said the letter may have been worded too strongly.

I used to get the bus on my own to school & back on my own when I was 7, I'm pretty sure. Certainly when I was in junior school which wouldn't be much later than that. Not a special school bus or anything, just the standard service.

When I was seven I was walking to school alone. Only half a mile but I had been doing that for at least a year. Kids nowadays are over protected.

FFS halfwits.

I used to cycle over a mile to Primary School at the age of 7/8.

Paranoia rules it seems.
