Hackers claim to have pwned the official website belonging to the UK Conservative Party.

Details on the 4chan website, where they discussed the supposed attack, were sketchy, but they claimed the site was vulnerable to a SQL injection exploit. An email to The Reg claimed the site had been defaced, but at time of writing, there was no proof, and the site appeared to be working normally.

The 4chan thread included what appeared to be fragments of a log that had been lifted from the site, but their authenticity couldn't be verified.

It's been a busy couple of days for the hackers, some of whom also operate under the name Anonymous. Not only did they plant a pirate flag on the MPAA website, they are also reported to have vandalized the site of Kiss frontman Gene Simmons. The aging rocker, you may recall, recently gave file-sharers quite the tongue-lashing.

According to the email sent to The Reg the injection vulnerability resided in the site's content management system and was “trivial” to exploit. ®
