A Brazilian court has ruled that GTA: Episodes from Liberty City contains unauthorised from a Brazilian composer, and has called for the game to be pulled off shelves - worldwide.

The fuss is being made over a song in the game's soundtrack called 'Daniel Haaksman - Kid Conga feat. MC Miltinho', which can be heard in a nightclub in 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' (one of two DLC packs that make up the content of the Episodes of Liberty City disc).

Despite being on iTunes in instrumental and remix forms, 'Kid Conga' allegedly makes use of an unauthorised sample from another song, 'Bota o Dedinho pro Alto', written by Brazilian composer Hamilton Lourenço da Silva, father of MC Miltinho. Are you following this?

Kotaku Brazil reports that Rockstar has provided documents authorising the use of the game's music, but the signatures within aren't those of the authors of the lawsuit.

The Brazilian court has ruled that Rockstar is therefore "restricted from trading and distributing the expansion Episodes From Liberty City", and wants copies pulled from shelves worldwide. It also wants digital versions pulled, with the threat of a R$5,000 (around £1900) fine for each day that the game remains on sale.

So is it the kid's fault or what? How could this even happen? Does it even make any sense? We need a coffee.

Rockstar is yet to comment on the report.

Very sloppy by the games publishers. This should have been sorted out before the games release.
