This seems to be a very odd thing to happen - though I do understand that some children with ADHD and autism can be quite violent, and need places to chill out.

Note: I am yet to be fully convinced that ADHD is a real thing. From what I have seen, it seems to be more of a parenting fail than anything genuinely medical. Parents give up with the phrase “I can’t do anything with him…” and expect the school to sort the problem out. Usually, a change in parent behaviour (including changing what food the child is given) can work wonders. I do appreciate the need to remove such children from the general environment due to problem it can cause for the rest of the school population.

I think that it might actually be a problem with food additives. ADHD was rare when I was a toddler. My best friend at that time would have been classified as ADHD but in reality he was an exceptionally bright kid, who managed to circumvent the locks on his cot and windows to run around on the roof of their apartment, which was six floors up in Gibraltar. I used to join him at times. His mum had a nervous breakdown from what I remember. On one occasion the hospital staff could see us running about on the sloping roofs and she could not care. I must have used a few of my available lives up at that age.

Other half notices a huge improved difference in behaviour when a child’s diet is changed. I can’t remember what it was that’s removed or changed - I believe that it’s certain kinds of bread. I’ll ask her when she gets back home.
