5am scramble  I'm glad I've got a small child who'll wake me for it.

I'm hoping that's 5am U.S. time.

I missed the BST bit. Bugger. I fear cybersquatting will occur, though I am up at 6am on Saturday because I've to be in work, so it's possible I can get the one I want. We'll see.

I wonder if their servers will take the load. Perhaps that's why it's at an odd time, well for us anyway.

I can now be found at facebook.com/SciFiGeek.
(8+)
There didn't appear to be any server load issues when I claimed my username at about twenty to six this morning.

I'm now gavin.lewis - not an uncommon name yet it's all mine!

There was no scramble, but there was no link to be found without googling and looking for the facebook blog, so I'm not that surprised.

I’m paul.dunning :-)

A fairly uncommon name, but I do know that my doctor’s surgery has another prson with my name on their books. They rang me with his blood work results once :o

Yeah, I grabbed my name as well. Not my username, nothing witty.
Tip: That amusing email address you had in university? Don't use it on job applications or CVs.

If you don't have a particular web presence or persona that's important to you, then I guess there really isn't a point.
For those that do - in which group I include myself - there is a vested interest in making sure you get the name you want.
