Wow, following reports of bans over the past few months by our cousins down under, an Australian review has actually come to the conclusion that anybody who has ever read literature on the subject could have told you years ago.

Quote:
“The review found that evidence about the effect of violent computer games on the aggression displayed by those who play them is inconclusive… from time to time people claim that there is a strong link between violent crime or aggressive behaviour and the popularity of violent computer games. The literature does not bear out that assertion.”

How this will affect their current approach to "ban it, it will hurt the children (who shouldn't be playing it anyway) we will have to see. From gamerant

Muppets. Doubt the ban would be lifted though.

It will get to the stage where the only games Australians can play are Zoombinis and Otto's Magic Blocks.

Legally acquire would be a better phrase. Almost nothing at all to stop them playing it through other means.

I'm intrigued, is it possible to import the real versions then, or is torrenting required?

I'm not sure about import or torrenting as I haven't needed to, but if I really wanted something and those methods proved troublesome then I'd get a friend to buy one in the UK and post it as a last resort.

Agree on both counts, I think that politicians respond to the press more than facts.
