Comedian Ricky Gervais promised this year he would push the boundaries as he hosted the Golden Globes for a second time.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12205469Whilst I'm not a huge fan of Ricky, I love to see big stars getting pulled down a peg or two. This one made me smile... and, on multi-millionaire Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg:

Oddly, Mark refers to Heather Mills as “the bullet I dodged”.

http://www.popeater.com/2011/01/17/ricky-gervais-banned-golden-globes/"However, the remark that upset the most attendees was when he described Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor's performances in 'I Love You, Phillip Morris' as "two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay. So, the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists, then." The not-so-subtle dig at Tom Cruise and John Travolta (we can presume) was met with boos and groans."

Unless you sat through that whole show you'd be hard-pushed to know what the general mood was, cos there's certainly a lot of spinning and dramatising going on at the minute, with quotes taken out of context etc

Seeing as how everyone in the room was being recorded, I'm pretty sure you couldn't judge the honest emotions they were feeling. A lot of them are actors, after all.... I dunno - if the complaints have been rolling in, as suggested, could it be people are starting to wonder just how Ricky Gervais has got where he is? It baffles me.

Alec Baldwin isn't the best actor in the world and De Niro gave up a long time ago, just for two Personally I've met few people who actually sat through The Office or Extras, and I've never heard anyone say his films were good bar one muppet who would tell you shows like Hitman and The Expendables were excellent*... * I get the feeling he tells people what he thinks they wanna hear

Personally I'd love to see Ricky brought down many pegs.
Purely for the way he abused a Live 8 sound techie who was just doing his job by performing a sound check. "Well tell a joke or something."
F*** OFF!

Get the audience those gadgets that they use on political speeches to see the reactions to the speech. I think it is called the Worm.

I've seen some of the stuff he said on the news and on other websites, and I actually thought it was all really quite funny. Hollywood should get over itself.
