Given the premium that white iPhones command, there will always be a staggered release IMO.

Looking at miphone, I don't really see why it isn't out already. If all the bits that are black on miphone were White instead, I'd have a White one. I guess the reason I don't know is the same reason I'm not a successful hardware engineer. I do think it would look crap in White though.

The Verizon iPhone 4.1 in America didn't make any sense, at this late stage, other than to p*ss off Verizon customers even more, when they buy one, only to have it replaced a couple of months later.
I would have thought that Apple would now wait until the iPhone 4ZXR3i Turbo or iPhone 5 comes out.

To be fair, a lot of the reviews of the Verizon iPhone have been making exactly this point - if you don't deeply need an iphone NOW, you'd be better off waiting to see what the next model is like.

Makes perfect sense to Apple though. And Verizon - Verizon iPhone 4 sold out I guess that if Verizon customers weren't happy to buy now, they'd wait a few months, no? Staggered release of the white iPhone could work if it's seen as a 'premium' product, e.g. iPhone 5 is released in June, black iPhone 4 drops in price as the entry-level but white iPhone 4 stays at or near the iP5 price?? I wouldn't want a white one that much (or at all, tbh) but I guess some people may.

I wonder if the timing will impact on the take up of Verizon customers?
