I couldn't agree more. I have to admit though I'm also very afraid for them. The Army in direct control? The precedents for that are not good. I'm kind of reminded.. OK, this is odd but go with it. When BMW launched the M3 sports car, they commissioned a series of short films made by internationally renowned directors & writers and starring famous actors. One of them, called 'Ticker' starred Don Cheadle and Clive Owen. I won't give the story away as it's got a great twist to it, but right now I'm reminded of one of things Cheadle's character says.. "If I fail... if WE fail... ... Then a country dies, and tyranny takes it's place" They have an opportunity that's virtually unprecedented in history but the stakes... the stakes are impossibly high. Aha, the film is here. Well worth 10 minutes of your time, despite actually being an extended car advert... Jon |

I hope for the best, but it will not necessarily happen. If the head of the Secret Police is in charge then who knows what will happen? Now can we start a sit in Trafalgar Square? We have our own bad leaders to get rid of. |

Like Jon said above, there's a hell of a lot at stake right now in Egypt. It doesn't matter who steps in to the void that's just been vacated, it's not going to be an easy job. The people won't let it be an easy job. If whoever takes over starts throwing their weight around, the people will once again speak out. Thee's a fledgling glimpse of hope for the people right now, I don't think they're in any mind to see that disappear any time soon. Mark |

It will mean some upheaval for the people but I cannot see them swapping one dictator for another. It will embolden the revolutions through out the middle east. It could even sweep out the Iranian regime. Yes it will be tough but if they are all working together then it will have more chance of success. There are so many variables but I do wish them success. Maybe we should all book holidays in Egypt to help them rebuild their economy? |
