A new job ad for a YouTube software engineer suggests the company is looking to expand its video content distribution presence on game consoles.
Youtube videos are currently available through a specially designed YouTube website on the PS3 and Wii web browsers.
But the new job post, which was spotted by Gamasutra, says the company is looking for an engineer to "build the next generation game-console-based TV experience with You Tube video content" and "integrate and optimise with distribution channels and devices including all major game platforms".
The service will eventually deliver a "compelling lean back experience" that may include pay-per-view and ad-supported models.
The job applicant is required to have "deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and/or Nintendo Wii".
Nintendo said this month that it's in competition with entertainment services like YouTube as well as traditional games companies like Sony.
