Congratulating the protesters with one face, selling crowd control weapons to similar dictatorships with the other face. Git.

Countries sell arms to each other all the time. You have no way of knowing in advance if they'll be a future enemy. EG Argentina had Type 42 destroyers during the Falklands war. Iran has F14's from America. etc etc etc The Afgans had American stinger anti-aircaft missiles when they invaded after 9-11.
It's all about the money.

Cameron has done something that I thought would not be possible - reach Tony Blair heights of awfulness in record time. Sure, I suspect that any PM would be under pressure to join in the gun peddling this week, but a man or woman of stronger character would have looked at the situation and said, “no - it is inappropriate,” and not gone.
I suspect that despite his bluster, Cameron is fairly easy to manipulate within certain parameters. He’s certainly very easy to get to revert to type despite all his apparent “green” and “ethical” musings.

Don't forget Cameron is a big fan of Blair - strange as it may seem.

No, I wasn’t. It’s all façade. Note that in Qatar today, Cameron has told students that more people voted for him, which is why he’s in power. That’s BS. More people didn’t vote for him, and he’s only in power because the LibDems are there propping him up.

In fact, only 33973 people voted for Cameron. Not many at all. That said, Witney isn't exactly a big place.
