BBC Radio news has just reported Coalition forces have fired 110 tomahawk missiles at Libya.

That'll leave a mark.

Obviously they needed to be used before the financial year end.

Well indeed, if you don't use the budget it won't be repeated next year.

State TV reckon the Zionists have attacked a hospital...

Don't think that's going to convince many apart from those who already support him.

I'd imagine if you're in any of the Libyan air defense installations a couple of hours ago things would have got quite uncomfortable.

President Obama just gave a press conference and he used a phrase - I can't remember what it was exactly but it was something like 'add our unique capabilities to the initial efforts of the coalition forces'. Given the initial objective must surely be to destroy the Libyan's capability to shoot Coalition planes down as they are trying to impose the no-fly zone, that screams 'stealth' to me. That's the only thing the Yanks have that nobody else has...

I suspect they all had a "Best Before" sticker on them. ;) Why not just use them rather than throw them away.

Yeah - but we know what the capabilities are because we'll have the receipt. Isn't there a backdoor kill switch that could be used instead?

And why do I get the cynical feeling that Cameron wants this to happen so he cannbe seen to be competent? I know it's generational - but each PM (possiby with the exception of Brown) since Thatcher has been present at the start of a war.

There could be the reason that going to war makes a leader appear tough and no nonsense. It was as if they want that Falklands factor to rub off on them.

Bang on the money, it was revealed earlier that the US has employed the use of B2 bombers against Libya...

The initial object is surely to secure the oil fields for American corporations... :?

No, that's the final objective. The initial objective is 'not get shot down'.
