Son writes off Dad's £275,000 car 20 year old male driver, 19 year old female passenger, 225MPH supercar. This was never going to end well really, was it? |

And they both walked away with only minor injuries - that's truly amasing! Imagine the shock if you were a witness, seeing the car spinning and rolling in a thunder of noise and then, after the car has settled, a couple of people emerge. I doubt I would believe my eyes for a few seconds. |

Modern cars are much safer than older counterparts. I read, on another forum, about a rather horrific Crossfire accident involving aquaplaning on a motorway and crashing I to a bridge pillar. Both people in the car walked away from that. You would not be as lucky if you were in a similar smash in a car from the 1970s. |

LOL, I can't imagine that will take very long to investigate. |

Is that with or without assistance from a brick wall or tree? |

Road condition, tyres, if the car has traction control/abs/other measures to maximise grip I nearly spun my FWD car on a roundabout going <20mph due to poor road conditions (hit ice in already snowy weather), had it pretty damn sideways for a heavyish fwd car I used to work with someone that had a heavily modded MR2 and spun it going down a motorway slip road in the dry at the speed limit, jabbed the throttle instead of gentle acceleration, it does happen |

Tends to suggest his suspension geometry could've used a little work? ![]() |

Sounds like fun - but I still reckon his chassis needed a little tuning. ![]() |

I wonder - while ringing around for insurance, one of the sales people heard where I lived, and proceeded to describe how he lost his heavily modified MR2 on a fairly casual, long sweeping bend (although much above 30 in your average family hatchback is pushing it - one of those places the limit's clearly there for a reason). Sent it backwards through the hedge. |

Looking at the state of the car he's obviously been going too fast for the corner. |

True, but given the amount of energy required to put a car into the state that one's in I'm pretty certain he wasn't doing 20mph ![]() |
