Daniel Craig was very close to walking after the delays in sorting finances.

It really shouldn't, it's a good film.

I found it a bit meh, should have been called Casino Royale 1.5.

I liked the pre-credits sequence, then it went downhill for me :(

And I know Bond has always had something of an advertising element built into it, but it's just got ridiculous in recent years

Watched Die Another Day when it was TV recently.
What a load of old tosh that was.
QoS, by comparison, is micturating on it from a great height.
Anyway, glad there's another one on the way, finally.

Both Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies "micturate" on both QoS and Casino Royale from a great height, IMO. ;)

Haven't seen it in years, but I remember Goldeneye as being a bit dull. Thought TND was quite good though - don't mind any of the Brosnan films really apart from DAD, he had a good run overall :)

Casino Royale is very good 'accurate' Bond - it's probably as close to the book as any Bond has been since From Russia With Love. That may not be what you want in a Bond film but on it's own terms it's very successful. However Quantum of Solace is an utter cowpat of a film. Two hours of my life I do actually feel aggrieved that it wasted. Given the next one won't be based on a Fleming story either I don't hold out much hope frankly.

Goldeneye is a fine Bond; it manages to tread the line between 'serious' and 'cheesy' quite well. TND isn't near as good but it's still better than Die Another Day. Both of the latter two suffer from having main bad guys who, while both being excellent actors, were given really badly written parts to play.

I think it's worse than that - watch the films without the 'Hey, it's James Bond! I know exactly what I'm getting and this makes me comfortable' glasses on, watch the Brosnan films again.
They're just not very well made. The acting's sloppy, the camera moves are sometimes a little 'meh' and the edits are painful in places. This is all aside from the script and bad guys.

The brosnan ones are just awful. Casino royale was pretty good, but I think qos went back a stage. I'm completely meh about bond now.
