Well I suppose that is what comes of having a .com domain. The US treat it as US territory. Would this have happened if they had a .eu, .ie or .uk domain? Possibly not. Though I would imagine that anyone who won money from an american player might lose what money they have left in their accounst as the US government will treat that as american.

I don't think the domain has anything to do with it. It's the fact that these sites let Americans play in contravention of Federal law.

I don't know the ins and outs of this, but it seems ridiculous that they are able to take action against sites that are based outside of the USA. :?

I don't think the domain has anything to do with it. It's the fact that these sites let Americans play in contravention of Federal law.

If it had been on a UK domain they would have had to go through the courts to seize the domain. It is the banks who processed the payments who are the real criminals.
