Lester Piggott was stripped of his title for tax avoidance, perhaps Lizzie should do the same to Bono.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Um, no, he was done for tax evasion. Tax avoidance is something different.

Err... Bono can't have a title, he's Irish. I don't think it's seen as politically polite to even give people from the RoI KBE's, what with the 'British Empire' part if it and all...

I think Bono has an honorary knighthood.

Quote:
Examples of foreigners with honorary knighthoods are Billy Graham, Bill Gates, Bob Geldof, Bono and Rudolph Giuliani, while Arsène Wenger and Gérard Houllier are honorary OBEs. Honorary knighthoods arise from Orders of Chivalry rather than as Knights Bachelor as the latter confers no postnominal letters.

Ah, yes is, you're right. he's a KBE. For some reason I always thought he was from Northern Ireland not the Republic. I suspect I was getting him and Fergal Sharkey confused in this respect.

'Sir Bono', gawd I hope never to see that one...

BTW: We gave Bill Gates a knighthood? WTF?
