Perhaps if they sentenced serious crimes appropriately and didn't lock up people for what are relatively minor offences then there'd be enough room to keep the worst offenders in for the appropriate amount of time.

Oh, for pete's sake, read the article - I thought it was fairly clear I was being sarcastic.
But, if you must know, I am not entirely opposed to capital punishment. It just opens a huge can of worms about under which conditions it should apply, making the whole thing largely unworkable.
