The Yank security services have no such concerns apparently, they just bully the provider or stick a transmitter on your car...

Well I have more faith in the EU protecting us than in our government. They wanted to stick road pricing systems in every car.

What a waste that would be. Most of the money raise would have to pay for the system rather than putting it to something useful, as is the case now.

Yes it would have been. I think that the idea came from the civil servants but the whole idea had too many overtones of big brother to be successful. They actually thought that road pricing via an expensive satellite tracking system was ever going to work, when every other big government IT project has been a costly failure. :roll:
