I think he might find he's mistaken about that one. Jon |

If anything people are much more price sensitive now then ever before. If they wanted to try increasing prices before the crisis would have been better. With many people on a tight budget it might fall down peoples priority. Others might sacrifice something for their broadband, but a price increase will get them to switch. |

We offer different prices depending on the usage required. BT do the same, as do many other providers. In reality what is going to happen is that the cheap packages are going to get lower priority than the expensive ones, so their speeds will get lower and lower as the network saturates. Pay £5 a month, get sh!t broadband - but adequate for a lot of people who just want email and Facebook. Pay £50 a month, get fantastic broadband. By which I mean I mean "upto" fantastic broadband, depending on line length and the weather. |

My bill's already gone up £3 recently, any more within the next year and I'm off elsewhere or writing it off as a bad job on principle ![]() |

I think that they know that most people simply are too lethargic to change ISP's, so are ripe for fleecing. The whole process of switching ISP can leave a user without access for days, worse if you have to move. They will not start till you have an active BT line. So if your line is not working then you are in trouble. It could take a few days for that to be sorted. Then the process of actually switching is so slow. |

I only pay £6.49 a month for my connection. Ture, they've just upgraded it to 20Mbs, but I was happy with the 8Mbs I had before. I just don't need huge speed or download limits. |

I pay £15, I could get it for cheaper if I signed up to Sky's phone package but the phone package that I have is far better so and happy to pay £2.50 a month more to not be bundled. I am also not capped or throttled. That suits me fine. If all prices were to increase then fine I have no choice but the combination of features I have now will be tolerable at a higher price. |
