Apple can justifiably claim to make the greenest portable computers, even if it tends a little towards hyperbole, a US advertising regulator has concluded.

I bet there's a red face or two over at Dell right about now.

Depends how you slice the salami.
According to Greenpeace (a bit more neutral than Apple I'd say) Apple Inc are far from "green", though if you limited yourself to their latest "monobloc" portables they might well appear greener than others....

That's not the issue here though, the issue here is about their advertising for their laptop computers, not the whole company. I also don't think Dell would commission a report like this from a company which has a bias towards Apple.

Well I agree (hence my salami-slicing caveat) however I rather suspect the advert in question at the very least hinted that the "green goodness" covered Apple and all its works, not solely its latest portables. Show me the original text and I'll stand corrected.

Well, they are neutral in that they chastise everyone but themselves equally. The fact that they enjoy chasing after ships in petrol powered speedboats is neither here nor there!

Greenpeace also like to shift the goalposts from time to time, in line with the practices of all campaigners.
