Excellent. That sounds like fuel for my Space Car.

So Mr Jetson would you have anything else to declare with that nuclear weapons grade fuel? ;)

Surely AM is far more powerful than mere nuclear grade weaponry, even fusion looks a bit flimsy next to AM (assuming 100% m/am conversion).

Admitedly, 300 or so particles isn't going to do that much.
The head of CERN was on C4 news last night. He said that, to obtain the amount of AM described in Dan Brown's Angels & Deamons would take something on the order of 250 million years with current methods so I suspect we're safe for the moment.

Yes it is magnitudes more efficient. The fusion in a hydrogen bomb only releases something like 4% of the potential energy. Where as AM releases 100% So you only need a little to have a credible bomb, but that is as you say well beyond any technology right now, plus requires huge amounts of energy to create in the first place. So hardly green either.

My project to return the Spirit Martian Rover continues. I need more contributions to the Camaro, uh Research Vehicle Fund but this news is heartening.

CERN is one of the few things that restores my faith in humanity.

As does Alex's project to return the Spirit Martian Rover

While I'd like to say that the environment is probably fairly far down the list when designing weapons I do seem to recall having seen something about a tank that could run on biodiesel and possibly one using fuel cells so maybe even war is getting green.

Well the US is trying to become independant of foreign oil. It would cripple them financially once peak oil hits the oil price. Also if this is to power a star ship then it becomes less of environmental issue.

I love that - Low emissions from the tail-pipe and depleted uranium from the front pipe.
