In a game where it is your actual friends I can imagine it being fun. Though when you are playing against strangers it can be very different. A gay friend of mine says nothing during the games because of homophobic comments from some players even though they have no idea that he is gay. |

You still can't beat a good LAN party, IMO. Unless I'm playing L4D or something similar, and even then only with friends, then I find the speaking annoying. I don't really want to hear what the other bozos in the game want to say, even if they're on my team. |

TF2 has an independent mute feature: if someone is mic spamming, you can mute them and keep useful people on. i freaking love it. |
