Which 99% of their subscribers never bother to download and install. But it means Virgin have an excuse for not spending any money on network security themselves....

I never downloaded it because it was windows only. I never had any problems.

True but I do keep an eye on my network traffic and while both my machines are running I can see if they are syncing. I also run AV scans on both machines and have found nothing yet.
