I'm not keen on using iPlayer on anything other than my TV (PS3) and I know few people who'll watch anything longer than a YT vid on their laptops, so I'm wondering if many are even making it through a whole programme on their computers, especially tablets :?

My PC is basically now my TV, I watch all my favourite TV shows on the Beeb through it, be it live at www.bbc.co.uk/tv or through iPlayer. I find the PS3 iPlayer client cumbersome, even compared to the Android client (which is excellent).

I have to say that my iPad is like my second TV. I use it to stream avi from my hard drive and when you are in bed it does not have to be a big screen. The resolution is very good. Then you can stream on iPlayer. Last night watched Mock the Week on it in bed. It also uses a lot less power than a big TV. Then you have streaming like TVcatchup.com. Then if you are out and about it is a better option than a proper TV no matter how portable.
