David Cameron's local Tory chairman found dead in Glastonbury toilet

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/glas ... oilet.html

Quote:
Christopher Shale, a senior member of David Cameron's Tory constituency, has been found dead after apparently committing suicide in a portable toilet at Glastonbury Festival.

Was that before or after U2 played?

You knew, you just knew, as soon as Michael Gove used the phrase 'family values', some tory grandee would almost immediately be discovered in a situation that would be anything but 'family friendly'.

Could we stop with all this until we know what actually happened please? I for one find it very distasteful and sincerely hope none of you have to go through something similar.

I appreciate that. Though since we know nothing about the circumstances we can at least have some dark humour about it. Obviously if it turns out that things were very different we will change. He could have had financial problems in which case our sympathies go to his family. We do not know yet.

Precisely. He could have had a heart attack. He could have banged his head on the loo.

Let's stop wondering about it. I can't keep an eye on you all during today, but if I find it's still "dark humour" later, I'll lock this thread.

Yes and the speculation that it was suicide also seems preposterous. People do not go to crowded public events to kill themselves. My thoughts are that it will probably be natural causes, as you say a heart attack, though difficult to die from a head injury in a portaloo unless he had warfarin in his blood for something else.

Yes they do.

I did.

You'd assume that the people who just really want to kill themselves do it in private, whereas the people who are more in the 'cry for help' arena do it somewhere more public. There's no chance of being rescued if you're on your own.

Jon

It is looking much more like a heart attack as he was ill the previous day.
