What do we make of that, then? He has a point, but then the programming is also being funded by the taxpayer and those oh-so-blatant product placements...

If you're the sort of person who downloads TV shows I doubt you were ever gonna go and buy the box set anyway, and who wants to wait months for something that's already been on TV that you may have missed? :?

Overall I'd argue they need a better sales model, cos they can't stop the uploading and so would be better off making some money...

I download Spooks and Ashes to Ashes, but I also pay a TV licence. Could someone please point in the direction of the problem?

He should stop blaming his poor viewing / sales figures on pirates but on his increasingly crap shows. The second season of Ashes to Ashes has been an absolute joke and Spooks is well past its sell-by-date.

Precisely. These morons just don't get it no matter how hard you bang their heads against the wall. Piracy is not a black and white issue. It is not just a question of middle-England middle-management 2.4 children I pay for all my entertainment in Currys or Comet and pay my license fee always person vs. spotty delinquent weed smoking unemployed violent thug i never pay my license fee and never pay a penny for entertainment pirate.

Apart from Top Gear, quality TV died in the UK a long time ago. If you find something good on the terrestrial channels, it is probably a repeat.
