It’s floating around Clacton at the moment.

Quote:
The 2,000lb (900kg) World War II German parachute mine was found on Friday by the dredger Congo River.

A spokesman for Thames Coastguard at Walton-on-the-Naze said he understood the Navy team had abandoned efforts to detonate the mine on Sunday.

He said he expected them to attempt to go back out to the scene at about 0800 BST on Monday.

Leave it. Bratty wants one for his collection. Think of it as mine clearance Big Society style. :-)

Not that uncommon. There are a few hundredthousands unexploded bombs in the Somme. Bratty would have a field day.

Have we definitely confirmed it's from WW2? That Angela Merkin seems a bit mean to me...

Where's dogbert10 to claim it's all part of some EU policy and that we're footing the bill for them?

I would of stashed it in my 1939 watermill shed I found in the forest :( storage containers are £25 a week I think and so ive claimed this little hut for storing huge war items, noone ever goes to this bit, beside it are some ww2 bunkers designed to keep Germans out from occupied Norway. Ironically last week I Saw a group of people passing the hut for the first time and to my disbelief they were all Germans  I was thinking in my head "those structures are meant to keep your type out but its obviously not working :x

Nothing like losing a war to win the war, eh?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
