55" is too big for most people, and then it needs to be around a £700 mark for it to take off. I would love one but the price needs to be lower, and I suspect that many others will feel the same. I would like one in a 21:9 format for watching movies on. |

Don't think they did much business (as you'd probably expect), but Phillips and Panasonic knocked out a few 21:9s. |

Yes looked good but were so expensive. £4000 I think. Not many could afford them. It is the natural shape for a big TV. Widescreen is great for now but full 21:9 would be better. |

Too big. They should release a 37" OLED one for a lot less. |

That is a good size and yes for a lot less. I am debating getting a new HD TV next year and am debating between sizes from 32" to 40". Any more than that is excessive. Though I suspect that there might be a large market for one that size, depending on price. |

We just bought a 32" for our bedroom. It's great, but may be a fraction to big for that room though. (There was sod all choice at 26/27") Based on that though, a 37" would be plenty big enough for our living room. |

I'm sure they'll make smaller ones, but I'm really not sure if it's too big if you can afford it. I now have a 42" LED screen in my pretty small living room, which replaced a 27" LCD, which replaced a 14" CRT which replaced a 7" green screen (modified monitor). Each step up feels big for the first few weeks, then you're still left wanting more. I think I'd like something around 60" that was 21:9 or whatever the super-wide screen is. In fact I'd really like the entire wall to be a screen and I'd just use whichever part of it I felt like, so that would be about 170" or something. |

I bought a 32" for the bedroom and it was fine. I replaced a 32" CRT so actually took up less space. It is actually a nice size but for a larger room maybe 40" is better. Though as JJW points out after a few weeks you do wonder if you shouldn't have opted for a bigger screen. ![]() |
