All I want to know is how do I get super powers? ![]() ![]() |

Is Cloaked_Wolf one of these radioactive cardiologists? We can ask him to bite you. I don't know what powers will transfer to you through this process - but I suggest avoiding radioactive proctologists at all costs. |

Is 10 a statistically significant sample? Interesting if it's true because I was having a conversation about "evolved for life in space" re. radiation tolerance just last weekend, and I argued that it wasn't genetically possible to "evolve" in one's own lifetime! |

Compared to any significant population? No. Jon |

Evolve no, respond yes. We could live underground for generations and still be able to get a tan on emergence. |

I was hoping more for spider powers or something like that rather than the ability to have a glowing bottom. ![]() |

Surely a better group of people to study would be the ones who live near Chernobyl. Any adaptation to a higher radiation background would surely be a generational thing. The children of people living in a high radiation background should be better at dealing with the radiation (assuming they survive) than their parents and so on. For that to work though, the less adaptable would have to be unable to pass on their genes and we don't really go in for that sort of thing these days. |

Not radioactive and (hopefully) not sterile. Have worked in Orthopaedics and in Interventional Cardiology where there is X-ray exposure but you're meant to wear lead-lined aprons (cover front and back from neck to knees, but misses the sides!) and a lead-line neck shield (wrap around; protects thyroid). Mutations can occur and evolution depends on which level you're looking at. At the cellular level, yes. In terms of the whole human, no obvious physical manifestations. |
