In a week when we are informed that one third of all sharks may soon be extinct, we get this tool proudly displaying a shark he heroically caught and killed so he could see if it was a record-breaking fish.

Quote:
As Mr Waldis, a 70-year-old pensioner, proudly posed for pictures next to his catch, he described his 35-minute battle to haul the shark in as 'the fight of my life'.

Why couldn't this idiot just let it go? Let him try for a Great White next and get in the water and tackle it on its own terms. Then he'll have the "fight of my life."

What a prick.

I love sharks, and I always get really excited if I catch a dog-fish. They're beautiful animals.

I refuse to eat a lot of fish these days, on the basis that we're over-fishing things like cod to the point of extinction.

Many people I know love to fish. Now I can understand doing it for a living. My uncle has built sea fairing vessels for the job, and spent many a long night out there. However, as a hobby? I'd rather have a kip and wait for someone else to deliver the kippers.

Actually I hate kippers, but I couldn't resist the alliteration.

I love to fish.

Go out on a boat with some family, drink beer and eat good food. Catch some fish then go and have fresh fish on the BBQ that evening.

It's brilliant, and enjoyable on so many levels! :)

Yes, of course. You wouldn't want the boat to be below sea level would you.
