BBC Clicky New York Police pepper spray people in a peaceful demonstration against fat cat corporate greed, something reported on Russia Today but not in the BBC article it seems. Demonstrations appear to be spreading throughout the US. |

That's what they're calling for: http://www.livestream.com/globalrevolution or http://globalrevolution.tv/ Probably NSFW - there was a lot of swearing when I found it yesterday. |

Even American intellectuals doubt that, but they do think that it will be in a different form from North Africa. It might also take longer for it to ferment. Though considering the nature of US politics I would expect another civil war rather than a revolution. |

I do not think that anything will happen for quiet some time. In fact nothing will happen till after the 2012 elections. There may be disquiet but that can rumble on for a long time. The issues that lead to the Civil war took years to ferment. So the same could happen this time. It all depends on whether changes are made. The average US family have had stagnant wages for 30 years so it is hardly likely to kick off tomorrow. |

Funny how I'm having to watch Russia Today to catch up with footage of unrest in America, Italy and Greece... |

Really? I found myself curious enough to bother looking, and MSNBC and CNNN are both covering it quite heavily. For instance... http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/05/wa ... ationwide/ I also checked out one of Russia Today's stories on this subject, and note that they spoke of it entirely in the context of the Arab Spring, which is shallow to the point of stupid. It's the sort of cheaply theatrical analysis that makes the more weak minded and melodramatic denizens of the internet to think that they are watching revolutions (or even civil wars!) erupt. At least MSNC had the sense to draw a more sensible comparison with the Tea Party. |

Indeed. It's there if you look for it but strangely not on the main news on BBC.
The bias of Russia Today is refreshing. It makes it easier to see the cheap theatrics in our own media. I think it healthy to see how the same events are reported by different media, but then that's just me. Hell, I even sometimes watch Sky 'News'. |

I used to watch Al Jazeera while reading the Sky News RSS feed. Then I got bored and started playing Minecraft, where I can actually make a difference. |

Aren't we lucky to have ShockWaffle in our midst? There is nothing they don't have the conclusive, correct answer too. They know their place, and that my friend - and let there be no doubt about it - is squarely in the right. |

I don't see why it should be a big story for the BBC, I'm fairly sure that one of those Bs probably stands for British. So why would they be obsessed with American local news? Did you spend months searching for news of the Tea Parties when the BBC were ignoring them?
I personally would rather have one good news source capable of worthwhile analysis than any number of worthless shallow ones. And I bet you never watch Fox. |
