Apparently applies to fixed landlines rather than wireless handsets.

Yet another type of the scam that the police won't care about unless you've actually lost money.
Someone tried a similar scam on my father-in-law a few months ago. As we didn't fall for it, the police couldn't care less that people were actually trying it.

Lol didn't see it was from 2009. There's a few guys on some other forums who have had this happen recently. Which means in two years, bugger all has happened.

Anyone who reads this could do it right now...

Personally I think the call clear-down process for BT single lines is problematic for various technical reasons, but is that something the police or government should get involved in?
