clicky

Study shows viewers of Fox News are less likely to get any given current affairs question right than someone who does not read newspapers or watch the news at all.

I tried watching the news when I was in America. It was all just presenters ranting. I just couldn't watch it for more than five minutes.

I found it quite funny that Fox News couldn't broadcast in Canada, as it failed to meet the minimum content requirements to be classed as 'News'.

It was unwatchable 10 years ago when I was there. I wondered how anyone got any kind of balanced viewpoint, and then realised that they really don’t. I ended up watching BBC America which seemed to run programmes like Keeping Up Appearances - not something I’d usually watch, but a massive improvement on what else was on offer at the times when I was in my hotel room.

Someone my other half knows who emigrated there a few years ago says that most news is very inward looking - nothing much about anything outside of the USA borders. She has to turn to BBC for a more global perspective.

Remember, Rupert Murdoch wants the law changed here so that news presenters can do “commentary”. In other words: he wants Sky News to be like Fox News. :?
