This was quite a shock at the weekend - the Swanland regularly delivers material to us from the UK mainland and Ireland.

While she can't compare to a supertanker, she isn't (wasn't) a small ship. It really does make you wonder how bad the sea must have been to roll her over and break her back. I had heard the forecasters say they expected the Irish sea to be hit by a massive storm over the weekend.

Fingers crossed they find some more of the crew alive, as unlikely as it seems. :(

It only takes one rogue wave.
Apparently scientists now believe they're much more common than they used to be, which is why new ships have been designed to cope with them while older ones are still at risk.
