The spokesman said: "Odeon Liverpool One can confirm it has issued a small number of refunds to guests who were unaware that The Artist was a silent film.
"The cinema is happy to offer guests a refund on their film choice is they raise concern with a member of staff within 10 minutes of the film starting."

I have to say that in Odeon’s weekly email I get, they don’t mention that the film is silent. I can’t say if the film publicity does or not because I haven’t seen any. However, it’s been in the news enough in various art segments. Oh.

You'd think it's USP was that it's silent, but that dog's been getting a lot of press too...

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I prefer all movies and series to be in their original language, if you overdub or (even worse) create an English version you lose much of the atmosphere of a movie.

I couldn't agree more. I'm slightly dismayed by people who say they won't watch a subtitled film on the grounds that they can't read at the same time as watching the screen
