Surely that should be "...and should, therefore, not be used." Or even "... and should not, therefore, be used." There's definitely a comma missing somewhere. Now, what was the main topic?

It sells though. In bucket loads. People want the tittle-tattle, right-wing reactionary sensationalism. If anyone is to blame, ultimately it's the people who buy the papers who are funding and condoning the methods. The moral outrage s being driven by guilt in a lot of quarters.
