A gunman entered a shop in Salford and shot dead a 27-year-old shop worker, firing several times, Greater Manchester Police said.

Det Supt Rebekah Sutcliffe, of Greater Mancheter Police, said: "This is an absolutely horrific attack. Every indication suggests that, tragically, he was genuinely an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"There is no reason to think that he would be a target and no indication that it was gang related. We can speculate that it was a robbery gone wrong but nothing was stolen so at the moment we have no motive."

I'm starting to think that there are some really sick people around. If news reports are accurate, this innocent man had his life taken away for no reason whatsoever.
