BT another Great British company (along with BA) mediocre management again destroying the work force because of their failed management practices why don't all the senior management who created this work for a year without pay, pensions, expenses, bonuses, shares, holidays and any other perks that they have too put the company back on track instead of taking their management mistakes and failures out on the work force or better still get a long tow rope tie it around their neck(s) and do the right thing … http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/b ... 636236.ece |

If the top execs of BT took a pay cut that would mean hundreds of workers wouldn't have to take a cut. Lets face it most of the big paid employees would be able to survive longer than the guys at the bottom, who would struggle missing a months pay. Maybe if BT improved their services and practices they would re-gain customers. |

Exactly, all these CEOs who are "giving up" a month's salary/their bonuses know that they can easily survive without it. TBH if I was an employee where my salary just about covered the mortgage, the bills and my family I'd not only think twice about giving up a month's salary, I'd want to see the CEO give up at least his annual salary (where the impact on our lives would be much more similar) I'd expect something back from the company when it was in the good times again. As it stands, I expect BA and BT will demonstrate [LIFTED] all appreciation for those staff who did volunteer to "work for free". |

It would make more sense for them to offer something in return, like shares (although that's not always the best thing to have) or that they will be paid the following year (with a caveat that if they leave the company the money is paid in full at the time of leaving. |
