OK, feel free to invoke Darwin, but I guess this person would not be in this predicament if this so called “petrol shortage” was being played up so much.

Quote:
A woman was badly burned when petrol ignited as she transferred it between containers in her kitchen, a fire service said today.

The woman was decanting fuel from one container to another in the house in York when it ignited and set fire to her clothing, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

I'm finding it quite difficult to muster any sympathy for the woman.

Negotiations don't resume until Monday, and Unite have already stated they would give seven days notice of any strike; so,regardless of idiotic comments from government ministers, WTF is wrong with people?

81% increase in petrol sales, and 45% increase in diesel!

Mind you the OECD forecast the UK is heading for another recession, and next month the goverment will pipe up and say retail sales fly in the face of this assessment. I reckon Francis Maude was instructed to inflame the situation in order to add a short-term boost to the economy. [/tinfoil hat]

Just watched BBC News covering this. The presenters were trying hard not to sound judgemental. You knew they were thinking, “what an idiot”.

Same thing happened to someone 12 years ago the last time there was a rush on fuel. IIRC the idiot was storing fuel in 2l pop bottles in his shed.
