Yeah, he fancies a spell in a secure hospital rather than being buggered senseless in general population.

And I call for him to be sentenced to be beaten to a bloody pulp by any of the victim's relatives who wish to do so.

Actually buggery rates in 'Western' European jails are quite low, that's mostly a phenomenon in the USA.

Tell that to the people who've had their personal space invaded

Well it wouldn't take very long, especially in the UK.

Can't help thinking the rates are so low because nobody will admit it happened...

What is interesting in this case is that there isn’t a jury. This was explained on BBC News when the trial started. There are judges (who are qualified) and lay judges (who aren’t) making up the judicial bench. There were problems getting judges for the case as Norway, whilst geographically large, has a small population, and it was difficult getting lay judges who didn’t have any kind of contact with a victim.

They've had to replace one of the lay judges already.

yeah. apparently he gave a press interview shortly after the actual attacks and said something along the lines of "whoever did this, death's too good for them". Oops.
Having said that, the point has to stand. How one earth is it possible to be able to find someone who could be considered objective about this? It was the biggest news story on planet earth at the time. You can't hope to find anyone who doesn't know if he did it or not (not that it matters, since he admitted he did it), you just have to find people you trust to make the smartest decision about what to do with him.
