Yes, it would be nice, but you have to wonder what state SOME of the games would be in considering what often gets released :x

I'd rather a game came out when it was done instead of the faux delay to the holiday season

It just means less people get my money!

I have been saying this is a good idea for years. So have most people who buys games for themselves, rather than exclusively as christmas presents for little nephew Timmy. The old way was bloody idiotic, and people have lost their jobs because of it every single year when some actually-quite-good game sells feck all copies 'cos its released the week after Call of Duty 23 and as a result their studio goes bust.

I agree games should be released slowly. If COD comes out in November, you don't release a new game for a few weeks obviously. Instead, release some with each of the holidays eg Easter/Summer/Xmas. Any games rated 15 or less could also be released around half-term.

There actually has been, in recent years, a move to postpone games from the pre-christmas release window to avoid the blockbuster games like CoD, FIFA & etc. After about... 15 years the industry has finally realised that trying to sell your game in the same room as the proverbial 300lb gorilla wasn't a good idea.

So now all those gamnes get released in the first week of March instead

If the DLC was worth talking about they could do a better job of promoting it throughout the year for a lot of games. Maybe a small discount and a free poster in the stores? ;)
