There's no point trailing it in one game, because in that one game there may be no points of contention which goal line technology may be any use to resolve. So what do they do then, say it's a failure? They have to trial it for every game in a division for a long period (say several months) to make any kind of judgement at all as to whether it might actually be any use or not. I actually want goal-line technology as I believe it will help, but this is an utterly useless 'trial' and is in fact a just pretty flimsy PR exercise to drum up attention for a friendly not even the 22 men on the pitch give a flying whatsit about. The only thing any of them will actually be trying to do is 'not get injured', so they don't miss out on Euro 2012. |
