How do you turn an iPhone into an iPod Touch?

Stick an O2 SIM card in it!

*buh dum, tsh!*

Seriously though, it went down mid afternoon yesterday for me, still not back :?
I'm with Tesco who piggybacks off O2, and as far as I could see last night, Tesco hadn't said anything...

Apparently the GSM network is now up and running, so if you switch off the 3G on your phone you'll get a decent signal. Can't tell in my office as the signal is always sh!t anyway.

Lesson to be learned: don’t become so machine dependent that you lose the ability to function when things go wrong, or have we as a society gone beyond that?

What staggers me is that so many people relying on such systems have not got a contingency plan for when the networks do go down.

Apart from G4S. I think this is to be expected.

The O2 signal failure, which stopped millions of customers from using their phones, also interfered with electronic tags monitoring convicts' curfews, it was reported.
