iswydt  I read an instresting book about fracking. A common yet denied byproduct is chemical leakage into the water table. Benzine and the like coming out of the taps and igniting in residential areas. Great idea.

I think you'll find it's methane that catches fire from the tap. If you get benzene in your water supply you would be more concerned about cancer than sparks.

No, I was talking about benzene (despite my spelling error). Methane can be released during the process, but benzene is pumped into the bore holes to facilitate the release of the shale gas.

Rammstein warned us against Benzene. They wanted to frack near Bath, where the ground is already like gruyere and there's hot sources. I don't think this is a brilliant idea :S
