Did you know that this goes very far? There's an official engineer of the olympics, an official architect of the olympics and the other companies are not allowed to advertise that they worked on the olympic park at all. RIBA is fighting against this as we speak. Ridiculous. |

http://www.london2012.com/about-us/funding/ So, not just London taxpayer. It was supposed to have been funded just from a London stipend (plus the sponsorship), but I believe that changed when the budget jumped from less than £3bn to the current £9bn-ish. |
