Obviously I lost a lot at the start of the crisis when I spend a year at home followed by six months on the doll. But since getting my new job have had much larger annual payrises than in my previous jobs (though that was offset by the lower starting point). |

My income level will drop, if the twunt at the top of our tree continues to impose his will on the UK business. On topic: Let's see if they trot out the usual "the economy grew by a smaller margin than expected", when this turns out to be another dose of bunk. |

I was listening to Radio 4 early Saturday morning and they did a piece on Iceland (the country, not the frozen food retailer). Iceland have basically done exactly the reverse of what we've done and their economy is, if not booming, then at least showing strong signs of recovery. Obviously, Iceland, much smaller country, not the same economy etc. But still next time GO stands up and says 'there is no alternative', it ain't necessarily so. They also put some of their bankers in jail. The rest are now happy to adhere to a code of practice that ensures it can never happen again, surprisingly. |

my wages via pay rises have been very poor (about 2.5% per year) its been the tax allowance threshold rises which have helped these tax allowance thresholds are again raised next April and again the following year to £10,000 its about the only thing the coalition have got right for working people ... |

I got 2% this year and 2.5% the previous year. By comparison, my rent on previous house had raised by 12% Current rent, bills and travel costs amount to 60% of my salary. Fun! |
